Who We Are

About the Thunder

Clarence Thunder is a competitive youth travel baseball program based in Clarence, New York.

Our Program

Clarence Kids,
Clarence Baseball

We're eleven families from Clarence whose kids happen to love baseball. This team was built on years of practice, teamwork, and a shared love of the game — and it's run by volunteer coaches who invest their own time to develop these players both on and off the field.

Travel baseball at this age gets a reputation for being intense, and honestly — sometimes it earns it. That's not what we're trying to build. We want kids who get better every season, who pick each other up after a bad inning, and who actually want to be at the field on a Saturday morning.

We compete hard. We expect effort. And we care a lot about how these kids carry themselves when things aren't going their way.

What We Emphasize

How We Do It

Player Development

Every kid should be a better baseball player in September than they were in April. That's the whole job.

Teamwork

Nobody on this roster is bigger than the roster. The dugout matters as much as the lineup card.

Sportsmanship

We shake hands, we respect the umpires, and we don't talk about the other team. Ever.

Effort

You can't control a bad hop or a called third strike. You can control how hard you run to first.

Accountability

Own the error, own the strikeout, own the missed sign — then go make the next play.

Memories Together

Twenty years from now they won't remember the score. They'll remember the bus rides and the barracks.

Competing the Right Way

Why Cooperstown
Matters to Us

In August 2027, this group heads to Cooperstown for a full week of tournament baseball at the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame — competing on the same fields where the game's history was made.

It's expensive. It's a long way from a Tuesday practice at Clarence Town Park. And it's exactly the kind of thing these kids will talk about for the rest of their lives — which is why we're raising $25,000 to make sure every single one of them gets to go.
